    Get PDF
Construction sector of Kurdistan region of Republic of Iraq has witnessed a huge development in construction sector last ten years. However, there are lack of awareness and legislation regarding the sustainable construction in buildings sector. The aim of the paper is to find the required mechanism to introduce sustainable practice and implement sustainable construction in the buildings construction sector at Northern Iraq. The main objectives in this study are identifying the barriers in sustainable construction at Northern Iraq and investigate the law and regulations in dealing with these barriers

Solid Waste Management and Route OptimizationBy Using GIS-A Case Study of Indapur City

: In today’s world solid waste management is a global environmental issue. In India this issue is not taken seriously. There is a tremendous amount of loss in terms of environmental degradation, health hazards and loss due to direct disposal of waste. There has to be appropriate planning for proper solid waste management by means of analysis of the waste situation of the area. The growth in the urban population and activity has resulted in an increased solid waste generation. In the process of solid waste management, more attention needs to be paid towards collection as it itself requires 60-70% of the total cost. For effective management, the municipal corporation of Indapur has divided the entire region into seventeen wards which are further divided into six health units to collect the solid waste. Two alternate disposal systems are considered. In first case the entire solid waste of the city of Indapur is dumped at one dumping site. In next case there are three sites proposed at different locations in the city Indapur city. A comparison is made considering transportation cost, site maintenance cost, labour cost, and diesel cost. This study would deal with, how Geographical Information System (GIS) can be used as a decision support tool for planning waste management and for route optimization. Hence an attempt is made in this study to second optimum route for solid waste transportation in Indapur city. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.150516

Generating acceptable Arabic Core Vocabularies and Symbols for AAC users

This paper discusses the development of an Arabic Symbol Dictionary for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) users, their families, carers, therapists and teachers as well as those who may benefit from the use of symbols to enhance literacy skills. With a requirement for a bi-lingual dictionary, a vocabulary list analyzer has been developed to evaluate similarities and differences in word frequencies from a range of word lists in order to collect suitable AAC lexical entries. An online bespoke symbol management has been created to hold the lexical entries alongside specifically designed symbols which are then accepted via a voting system using a series of criteria. Results to date have highlighted how successful these systems can be when encouraging participation along with the need for further research into the development of personalised context sensitive core vocabularies

Heat Shock Proteins Alterations in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory and autoimmune disease characterized by the attack of the immune system on the body’s healthy joint lining and degeneration of articular structures. This disease involves an increased release of inflammatory mediators in the affected joint that sensitize sensory neurons and create a positive feedback loop to further enhance their release. Among these mediators, the cytokines and neuropeptides are responsible for the crippling pain and the persistent neurogenic inflammation associated with RA. More importantly, specific proteins released either centrally or peripherally have been shown to play opposing roles in the pathogenesis of this disease: an inflammatory role that mediates and increases the severity of inflammatory response and/or an anti-inflammatory and protective role that modulates the process of inflammation. In this review, we will shed light on the neuroimmune function of different members of the heat shock protein (HSPs) family and the complex manifold actions that they exert during the course of RA. Specifically, we will focus our discussion on the duality in the mechanism of action of Hsp27, Hsp60, Hsp70, and Hsp90

    CHARGE syndrome

CHARGE syndrome was initially defined as a non-random association of anomalies (Coloboma, Heart defect, Atresia choanae, Retarded growth and development, Genital hypoplasia, Ear anomalies/deafness). In 1998, an expert group defined the major (the classical 4C's: Choanal atresia, Coloboma, Characteristic ears and Cranial nerve anomalies) and minor criteria of CHARGE syndrome. Individuals with all four major characteristics or three major and three minor characteristics are highly likely to have CHARGE syndrome. However, there have been individuals genetically identified with CHARGE syndrome without the classical choanal atresia and coloboma. The reported incidence of CHARGE syndrome ranges from 0.1–1.2/10,000 and depends on professional recognition. Coloboma mainly affects the retina. Major and minor congenital heart defects (the commonest cyanotic heart defect is tetralogy of Fallot) occur in 75–80% of patients. Choanal atresia may be membranous or bony; bilateral or unilateral. Mental retardation is variable with intelligence quotients (IQ) ranging from normal to profound retardation. Under-development of the external genitalia is a common finding in males but it is less apparent in females. Ear abnormalities include a classical finding of unusually shaped ears and hearing loss (conductive and/or nerve deafness that ranges from mild to severe deafness). Multiple cranial nerve dysfunctions are common. A behavioral phenotype for CHARGE syndrome is emerging. Mutations in the CHD7 gene (member of the chromodomain helicase DNA protein family) are detected in over 75% of patients with CHARGE syndrome. Children with CHARGE syndrome require intensive medical management as well as numerous surgical interventions. They also need multidisciplinary follow up. Some of the hidden issues of CHARGE syndrome are often forgotten, one being the feeding adaptation of these children, which needs an early aggressive approach from a feeding team. As the child develops, challenging behaviors become more common and require adaptation of educational and therapeutic services, including behavioral and pharmacological interventions

A sensitive, simple, specific, precise, accurate and rugged method for determination of enantiomeric purity of S-(-)-1-cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-8-methoxy-7-{4-amino-3,3-dimethylpiperidin-1-yl}-4-oxo-quinoline-3-carboxylic acid hydrochloride monohydrate, WCK 1152, a new drug substance has been developed. The method is based on prederivatization of analyte to diastereomer followed by RP-HPLC using endcapped C-18 stationary phase. Column was maintained at 30°C. The UV/Vis detector was operated at 290 nm. Flow rate of the mobile phase was 1.25 ml/min. The method offers excellent separation of two enantiomers with resolution more than 4 and tailing factor less than 1.5. The method was validated for the quantification of R-(+)-enantiomer impurity, WCK 1153 in the bulk drug. Calibration curves showed excellent linearity over the concentration range of 0.1 to 1.5 mg/ml for WCK 1152 and 0.01 to 0.15 mg/ml for WCK 1153. Precision of the method was 1.13%. Limit of detection and limit of quantitation of the method for WCK 1152 were 0.0006 mg/ml and 0.0018 mg/ml and for WCK 1153 were 0.0007 mg/ml and 0.0021 mg/ml, respectively. Average recovery of the WCK 1153 in WCK 1152 was 94.4%. This method was employed in determining enantiomeric purity of clinical trial batches of WCK 1152
